Every Video Has a Trailer: How ReallyYou Ends the Blind Buy

July 27, 2026 · ReallyYou

The worst experience in paid content is the blind buy: you pay, the file opens, and it's nothing like what was promised. ReallyYou is built so that moment can't happen.

The rule: no video without a trailer

Every finished video on ReallyYou gets a public trailer — a preview anyone can watch, before any unlock decision. This isn't optional per creator; it's how the platform works.

For requests, that changes the whole dynamic:

  1. Creators answer an open request by publishing their video's trailer.
  2. You — and every other backer — watch the trailer.
  3. Only when a trailer convinces you do you unlock the full video, using the money you already put on the request.

You're never asked to commit money after seeing nothing. Your stake goes on the request (the brief you wrote or backed), and it converts into an unlock only when you've seen a preview and want the full thing.

Why trailers make everyone better

Fans choose with their eyes, not their hopes. When several creators answer the same request, the trailers sit side by side. You unlock the take you like — maybe more than one.

Creators compete on quality, not thumbnails. A trailer is a real sample of the finished work. Creators who deliver on the brief win unlocks; the preview does the selling.

The market stays honest. A trailer that misrepresents the full video is not a clever tactic on ReallyYou — it's a refund case.

Backstopped by a real refund policy

Previews handle most of the trust problem up front. For the rest, the Refund Policy in our Terms is explicit. Once you've unlocked and watched a video, sales are final — except when:

  • you couldn't access the video,
  • we removed it, or
  • it materially misrepresents what was described.

That last one matters: the request brief and the trailer set the expectation, and the delivered video has to honor it.

Trust is a stack, not a feature

Trailers are one layer. Under them: every creator is identity-verified before publishing, the platform is strictly 18+, content rules are public, and there's a clear reporting path for anything that shouldn't be up. Each layer makes the others enforceable.
